We are honored that you have taken the time to see what The Church Up the Street is all about! We are a local house church movement in Colorado Springs and Falcon, Colorado. We believe that the Cross of Jesus Christ is God’s answer to the worlds most pressing needs. We are seeking to establish local house churches throughout the city and the surrounding area with this cross-centered message. Within our web site you will find information about who we are, what we believe, what we are doing and why we are committed to the house church model. We also have a resource page with links to free audio downloads, books and other ministries that can help you grow in your faith. We would welcome any opportunity to serve you! The message of Christianity can be summed up in one verse: “There is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men…”(I Timothy 2:5) God willingly sacrificed His own Son on the cross to pay for OUR sins so that we could be forgiven and reconciled to Him. The Church Up the Street is a community of people based in Colorado Springs and Falcon, Colorado,who believe that the message of the Cross is THE greatest news in history. We are committed to sharing this life-transforming message with others and to living out the teaching of Jesus Christ in our daily lives. We are a local House Church movement, gathering in homes and apartments, just like the early church did for the first 300 years of its existence. Meeting this way enables us to understand and apply the Bible to our lives more effectively than in the traditional American style church service. At our meetings, we read and study the Bible, sing songs about who God is and what He has done, pray for each other, hang out, and share a meal together. We strive to be faithful to the teachings of the Bible, so our meetings are designed to train and equip those who are already followers of Christ. However, because our meetings are less formal than the traditional church, they are a great way to introduce your non-christian friends to the claims of Christ.
