DMCA Policy
The Church Directory (churcheslist.com) respects the intellectual property rights of others. We expect our users to do the same. This policy describes our procedures for addressing alleged copyright infringement on churcheslist.com, in compliance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
We are dedicated to maintaining a directory of churches and religious organizations that honors the legal rights of content creators. We act quickly upon receiving proper notice of copyright infringement. This includes removing or disabling access to material claimed to be infringing.
Reporting Copyright Infringement (DMCA Takedown Notice)
If you are a copyright owner or an agent acting on their behalf and believe that content on churcheslist.com infringes upon your copyright, you may submit a DMCA Takedown Notice. Please provide our Designated Copyright Agent with the following information in writing:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed. Include the title, author, and any registration numbers if available.
- Identification of the material on our site that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity. You must provide information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material, such as the exact URL(s).
- Information allowing us to contact the complaining party, such as an address, telephone number, and an email address.
- A statement that the complaining party has a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notification is accurate. Also state, under penalty of perjury, that the complaining party is authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
Counter-Notification Process
If you believe your content was removed or access disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification. Send this notice to our Designated Copyright Agent. Your counter-notification must include the following:
- A physical or electronic signature of the subscriber.
- Identification of the material that was removed or to which access was disabled. Include the location where the material appeared before removal or disabling.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the subscriber has a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification of the material.
- The subscriber’s name, address, and telephone number.
- A statement that the subscriber consents to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which the address is located. If the subscriber’s address is outside the United States, the subscriber consents to jurisdiction of any judicial district in which churcheslist.com may be found. The subscriber will accept service of process from the person who provided the original DMCA notification or an agent of such person.

Repeat Infringer Policy
The Church Directory maintains a policy to terminate, in appropriate circumstances, users who are repeat infringers of copyright. We reserve the right to remove content and terminate user access at our sole discretion. This action applies to users who repeatedly upload or post infringing material within our listings of Christian organizations.
