Claim a listing

Verification takes 2–5 business days.

A claim lets a church representative add hours, announcements, photographs, and a staff directory to an existing Churches List entry. It is free and does not change the editorial baseline we maintain from public sources.

Who can claim

The pastor, church administrator, office manager, or webmaster of the church. If you are the treasurer, a board member, or another officer with written authority, please say so in your claim.

What claiming gives you

  • A short announcement banner at the top of the church page (e.g., "Christmas Eve services 7 & 10 PM").
  • A custom "First time visiting?" note for new visitors.
  • A staff/clergy directory with names, roles, short bios, and photos.
  • Your own photo gallery, in addition to public-domain photos already shown.
  • A "Give online" link to your own donation provider.
  • Your YouTube channel, if you livestream services, so the page shows your live status and recent sermons.

How to claim

  1. Open the church page and click Claim this listing in the sidebar.
  2. Fill in your name, role, and a contact email on a domain we can verify against the church (an email at the church website is ideal).
  3. A corrections editor will call the phone number of record to confirm your identity — usually within 48 hours.
  4. Once verified, you get a login link by email. From there you can edit the extras above.

What claiming does not do

A claim does not let a church rewrite its denominational affiliation, remove negative reviews (we do not host reviews), change the location on the map, or suppress its founding date. Editorial baseline remains under editorial control, to keep the directory trustworthy for every reader.

Claim the listing directly from the church page, or write to claims@churcheslist.com if you cannot find the church.
