Terms of Use
Last updated: April 24, 2026.
Churches List is free to read and cite. Using it means agreeing to the short, plainspoken rules below. If any clause is unclear, write to us and we will clarify in this document.
1. Who we are
Churches List is an independent editorial directory of Christian parishes in the United States, published at churcheslist.com. We are not affiliated with any denomination, publisher, or advertising network.
2. Your use of the site
You may read, link to, and cite any page on this site, for any purpose, without asking. We encourage it. We ask only that you:
- Do not misrepresent our content as your own.
- Do not crawl the site so aggressively that you degrade it for other readers. The sitemap is at /sitemap.xml; 1–2 requests per second is polite.
- Do not submit false claims or corrections, or impersonate a parish representative.
3. Ownership of content
Original editorial text, curation choices, and the layout of this site are © Churches List. Third-party material we quote — Wikipedia extracts, Wikimedia Commons photographs, OpenStreetMap geodata, US Census figures — remains the property of its respective owners under its original license. Each parish page links back to each source.
4. Claims and corrections
If you represent a parish, you may submit a claim or a correction through the forms on the parish page. By submitting, you confirm that you have authority to represent the parish and that the information you provide is accurate. We reserve editorial judgment and may decline or edit submissions.
5. Disclaimers
We make a genuine effort to keep parish entries accurate — hours, phone numbers, service times, denominational affiliation. We cannot guarantee accuracy. Call ahead before traveling. Denominational categorizations are editorial choices, not theological pronouncements.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Churches List is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the site, including but not limited to wasted travel, mistaken service times, or ecclesial disputes. The site is provided "as is."
7. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
8. Changes
We update this page when the rules change. The "Last updated" date above is definitive. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance.
