Truth Family Church

This budding congregation was simply born out of a desire to truly know God and His Word. Not to know about God or about His Word, but to truly and intimately know Him and His Word. Considering the plethora of churches that surround us in Alamance County, one must wonder why more than 75% of its residence are unsaved or even unchurched. One must also wonder why a good percentage of those that go to church are as carnal as the world is. They act the way the world acts, they talk the way the world talks, the listen to the music the world listens too, they dress like the world and they love the very things that God hates. Why is that? What is the problem? There is a lot of movement and activity in the church, but why isnt anything changing? Why are churches not growing? Why are people not growing? Now, I certainly am not suggesting that (all) churches are this way, but I am suggesting that most are. We are in desperate need of some type of revival or awakening. However, neither of those things will come unless there is a reformation in our theology. I am not speaking of an Armenian vs. Calvinism reformation. I am simply speaking of a reformation of the basics. A good biblical understanding of who God truly is (to the best of our human abilities), True worship that is spirit led and not led by emotion. Worship that is not hyped up to impress young people or lost people. A reformation in our preaching. Preaching is so watered down now, it is pathetic. This is done in order to keep people coming and giving. Sin is hardly preached against. We lack church discipline and we allow packs of wolves to run our churches. This is what happens when you are not a Holy Spirit powered church. Wolves will come in! The Gospel that is being preached is heresy! Ask Jesus in your Heart? What verse is that? What happened to REPENT? Anyway, enough rambling. This church was born out of a desire to get to know God and His Word. A desire to dig deep into His Word and learn how HE would have us live, not the rest of the evangelical.Christian crowd. I agree with Paul Washer, there are only two things that will turn this around. 1. A great Awakening among the churches and the planting of Biblical churches or 2. Persecution. I prefer the first. I believe part of the solution is to plant Biblical churches. How can we possibly ask God for (extra-biblical) manifestations when we are not even adhering to what has already been written? It is just the Truth!
