Holy Cross Church
We are a Catholic Church in union with the Polish National Catholic Church of America and in ecumenical dialogue with the Roman Catholic Church. We welcome people of all ethnic, racial, and social backgrounds. Our beliefs are based on Holy Scripture, Christian Tradition and Church Ecumenical Synods. A Message of Welcome! In the name of Jesus, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our parish. It is here, in all aspects of parochial life, that our Lord, Jesus Christ, is praised and worshiped. It is in these parochial activities that the foundation of Christian Catholic life is fostered. In whatever way the Lord has gifted you, you will be able to express those talents both in and outside the parish. Our Mission is to bring the maximum number of people possible into a relationship with Jesus Christ. “You are to go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone, everywhere! see Mark 16:15.” We believe that we are creating one of the great churches of the 21st century. We feel that we are a unique church where the timeless message of Christ is communicated in a contemporary style. “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save those who are lost Luke 19:10.” Feel free to ask questions. Your joining with us will truly be a blessing and a joy unto the Lord. WelcomeFr. Peter and Paul Polish National Catholic Church in Passaic desired to build a church closer to their homes in Paterson. The Holy Cross Parish was organized on April 26, 1926. The first Mass was celebrated at the newly erected church at the corner of Lawrence & Mercer Streets on January 1, 1928. During the 1950’s many parish members had moved from Paterson to surrounding suburbs. In order for the parish to grow the construction of a new building was necessary. A ground breaking ceremony on the property on Browertown Road, W. Paterson was held March 7, 1965. The first Holy Mass was celebrated on Mother’s Day 1966. In April 1995 the parish dedicated Fr.
